Madam Lambie’s Dilemma.

Madam Lambie’s Dilemma.

I hear its a growth industry now, the neoliberal ideal … One may pay for compassion. Hugs. Its the new take on what one may deserve. Those that can afford it can get much. Friendships, respect, love, all doled out to those depending on what they can pay. Sympathy, that’s for the devil – thank God. Imagine, sitting across a government desk while its discussed just how much respect and compassion one is due at any present time … ‘Well,…

Take Away not Sorrow, for it Feeds the Soul.

Take Away not Sorrow, for it Feeds the Soul.

Just to think that it wasn’t so very long ago that we could drink unclean water, unconsecrated water more correctly. Its true that only 100 years ago that water, although perhaps unclean, wasn’t full of the contaminants of progress; our plastic, insecticides, herbicides, our cast off wire and flaking chrome, our coal dust and heavy metal tailings and our dead and dying. Back then we had no need to see water as a basic human right. Back then we only…

Christ’s Freedom of Thought.

Christ’s Freedom of Thought.

“In a democracy, the criminal law cannot be deployed as a tool for disposing of those who use their right of free speech to embarrass or inconvenience the authorities.” – Geoffrey Robertson. Its significant don’t you think, that in all the claptrap and obfuscation in this Christ’s new Bill there’s a disclaimer about mental health. That is, all the organised religions are actually natural rights (which of course we don’t get in the new Australia) except .. da da, wait…

Farce, the Hypocrisy of Society’s Values.

Farce, the Hypocrisy of Society’s Values.

Everywhere we hear about Australia’s mental health issues. You turn the radio on late at night and there’s always someone yapping on about how much we’ve improved our attitudes or how one can get help with their mental health – for a cost, of course. The cost mainly being that one must conform to the methods and the ideals of such and such charitable organisation that’s offering the aid and receiving cash from the government. We have a government who…

Undersubscribed in Australia.

Undersubscribed in Australia.

I read the other day that the so called NDIS is undersubscribed. In other words, that the government can syphon money out of it. One of the reasons given – by the government, of course – is that us untermenchen are refusing to have invasive surgeries. I’m not so sure that refusing is the right word. In the first place, and as one who knows, the waiting list for these so called invasive surgeries are endlessly long. Its easier and…

Still Rich Rewards for a Madman ..

Still Rich Rewards for a Madman ..

‘Who do you go for?’ She said handing me another piece of broken quartz … ‘Ah, do you mean, what is my state of origin?’ – knowing of course that that was exactly what she was asking. ‘M’huh’ she nodded. ‘Well I’m from the Blue Mountains in Sydney, so I’m from NSW, I’m a NSW boy .. and a ragged old one at that.’ ‘Grrr .. mmn,’ she frowned or rather, scowled. She was probably 8 years old and we…

Cherish Life …

Cherish Life …

Me, I’m a Most Profligate Sinner … And so damned proud of it! “Ah”, I hear you say, “Pride is another sin”. Yes it is, but its a noble sin and its open to everyone … Ole Suicide again, Cherish Life – what a load of crap – another righteous organisation bounded in sin. The sin they call the ‘Right to Life’; except all rights have been removed from it. They say, how would you feel if you were told…

Bowel Shakin’ & Bone Crunching.

Bowel Shakin’ & Bone Crunching.

A funny thing happened on the way to my church yesterday. Im an evening church attender .. the darkness that surrounds me matches the message better. Also, of course, there’s not much point going to the Palace of Kings until you’re well and truly in the mood. And 8 hours of Rugby League Advertising sure does put you there. So listening still to Old Suicide .. this young lady came on the air to talk about respect. She had an…

Of Lunatics & Lunar Men.

Of Lunatics & Lunar Men.

When I was in my mid-teens a group of my friends decided that we wanted to have our own Lunar Club. A friend Mark A. and I had both read Ben Franklins Autobiography and we liked the idea of getting together around a table and discussing weird and wonderful ideas. It was much easier then .. there was no Internet, so when you learnt things you actually had to trawl through information instead of just getting any old answer that…

Miss Administration

Miss Administration

Ever spent 61/2 hours sitting on a wooden bench waiting for a question to be answered, staring at glossy posters telling you about Respect, Duty of Care, Bullying and having Courageous Conversations? Well not really waiting for an answer, no fool would do that. No, waiting for a letter to be copied. I’d received my answer .. No! But, someone was apparently ‘seeing what they could do’. Of course someone would have actually needed to take the letter and copy…
