Spanking The Donkey. Yeah!

Spanking The Donkey. Yeah!

Been a few dull days out here in God’s Country .. a few. So, well, you know, you fall back to the good old ABC .. see how the rest of the world’s comin’ along.

A fella just texted in, they’ve been yapping about the morality of R.I ( I missed the start so I’ve no idea what this is and I’m loath to make a guess) Anyway this fella says, “… if they’re on welfare then they have no right to protest anything,” – I take it to mean that only those with a job, or not receiving any type of welfare, have the right of protest, like the vote or free speech?

Then he used the analogy; ” … its like your neighbour telling you what colour car you have to buy. If he’s not putting any bucks in then he has no say in the colour .. simple as that!”

Seriously. I assume that this is an educated Aussie. He’s a Qld’er and didn’t give his name – prefered to be anonymous, secret. Now I’m certainly glad that the fella – the compare, its Far North Regional Qld Arvo Suicide – did read it out live. I mean, its good for all the rest of us to how our fellow citizens approach the complexities of our unique democracy … But, Gee Whizz & Howdy Doo Dah, he musta been having a vacant moment .. the compare, the other fellas probably never had anything other than vacant moments.

Follows, not only from his logic, but from his wonderful car analogy, I s’pose, that could … should … ought to mean that all these kids protesting about their environment will see their parents sent a robo-collectiin notice demanding all the dosh they claimed for the little beggars since they were born .. makes sense, only seems fair, welfare is welfare.

Probably fake news from Dirty Dutton, I hear he’s over in the US of A twiddling his thumbs with Our Don’s lot … getting a few ideas on running a country from someone who actually knows.

“What is character worth if by the breath of slander or by the floating uncertainty of suspicion it may instantly be changed from integrity to perfidy, from purity to corruption, from refinement to barbarity and from the highest sentiments of honour and religion to the lowest capacity of the wolf and the bloodhound! What is character – if people are ready without fears and doubts to translate the faithful teacher to the felons cell; the good citizen to the lowest depths of shameless crime; the friend to the place of demon and to transform the man to the monster?” – Nahum Capen.
