By the River of Babylon.

By the River of Babylon.

I suppose its called testing the waters. Seeing what reaction our kids give when their government arrests foreign correspondents covering a major environmental catastrophe. No, not an act of gods, like a cyclone or a tsunami .. or a neoLibNat government but a man made disaster like Adani – I’d imagine there’s not going to be much of a reaction.

Its interesting that the King allowed all those young kids to protest against environmental destruction just before him and his Merry Little Men marched off to an election last year … don’t you think? I suppose that last year he didn’t want to frighten the parents, but now, he’s determined to frighten all the kids. Though now, I suppose, from the King’s way of thinking its quite a good advertising campaign, and a neat way to keep politics out of the headlines – arresting foreign journos for their cares regarding our shared environment; should be the main headline all over France and Europe … and NZ (you’d hope!) today. You know, Where the Bloody Hell are They? – in an Aussie detention camp, ha ha ha – that’ll teach em.

And the poor Frenchie thought that Oz was a democracy. Should have known better … Ya can’t have a Democracy run by an anti-democratic elitist King!

… Which reminds me, when’s the King off to his dinner with old Don at the Whitehouse? That’ll be a rollicking affair. Wonder whats on the agenda for that bash; fake news, walls & fences, smog, fascist progression, corporate accounting and miracles – that’ll be one fun night, eh? Two dumb Kings lolling about amongst the empties while the girls discuss dishes and decor out in the parlour.

‘It is good to remember that time in which the advocates of freedom, the advocates of humanity, experienced hostility and persecution. It’s good to remember that these persecutions did not cause them to surrender a single iota of their convictions. Where did this courage come from? From the belief in that common humanity which through centuries, again and again interupted sabre rattling self laceration, even when force sought to condemn it to silence.’ – Heinrich Simon (Editor Frankfurter Zeitung 1931).
