Layer upon Layer upon Layer; an Integrity Commission at the Discretion of the King’s Laywer.
Once again we see the deceit and the moral corruption of those men who would be our kings – our representatives secure under the constitution of parliament. Those men (and yes dear ladies, you too) who have found a way to ‘get themselves elected’ in the immortal words of his Mendaciousness, Pistol Pete Dutton. Once again we have the king’s men tripping about among the primroses in an attempt to define corruption. Would that we could be subjected to their laws.
These accusations are historical, we are told, and they were dealt with by MalCons boys … so says the king’s spokesman. The accusations which I’ve not heard of before but have no doubt are right to the point, are accusations of improper conduct by two of the king’s chief thugs. What I’m wondering is just why the king’s spokesman thinks that the fact that they are what he calls historical is pertinent to either justice, or the definition of corruption?
These same two thugs – the Ministry Lawyer and Mr Merry Go Round, his buddy Tick Tudge – are those who disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of Permanent Residents from the rights they shared with born citizens – specifically the right to vote. This they did – yes, not even by the corrupted process of parliament – but by ministerial discretion as to the ‘good’, or perhaps, ‘correctness of character’ of what it means to be Australian. These two thugs, and let me say utterly corrupt and despicable human beings, made decisions behind closed doors (because the reasons, of course, would be just too frightening for the average Aussie to understand) and they, with the support of Dirty Dutton’s democratic corruptions, made decisions that disenfranchised 600 000 Aussies who had transgressed somehow, something, somewhere, sometime … in the past! In history.
Historical mores judged from the pin prick of disgrace that these ministers select to view our world!
Some of these historical transgressing Aussies have actually been deported or are wasting away in some secret detention at this very moment. This we know without any shadow of a doubt … We observe it, talk about it over our rich breakfasts and say, “O weep not, dear child, for there will be a morning of brightness. O smile and say ah-ha ah-ha.”*
Of course these ministers would argue ’til they’re true blue in the face that this is not corruption. The constitution permits it, it says nothing about the corruption of ideals – and as we all know, Christ Porter, the King’s Lawyer, has just made a sublime effort to assuage his people that corruption for ministers and corporate identities (if even possible) has to be something that ‘has been proven to break the law’ and will then be dealt with in house, in secrecy; judged by the peers and then swept under the bulging carpet of hypocrisy … for the good of the rest of us and the peace and stability of the country – The rewards of imposture.
“One’s moral compass must point toward the economy and not toward humanity’ – David ‘Hubris’ Littleproud.
So what shall we expect this week from the King’s Band of Thieves (in the way of deflection, I mean)? … Perhaps some pure and honorable neoliberal will suggest a change to ‘our’ not so wonderful nationalist anthem? Perhaps the King himself will claw back some of the public funds he stupidly endowed upon his poorest people … Perhaps some Corporate identity will pay their fair share of tax … perhaps.
“One has to earn death with all one’s appetites, refuse no prison, reject no experience however degrading or sordid. One has to come to the end of one’s forces, learn that one is a slave – in whatever realm – in order to desire emancipation.” – Henry Miller, Big Sur & the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch.
