Zen & the Art of War Import

I see that Pistol Pete’s retreating into what he calls Zen Meditation in an effort to clear his conscience and relax after all the heavy hitting he’s compelled to do to keep the rest of us safe and free. I’m not sure that he’s either in need of a clear conscience, or that this meditation will help clear it for him … What I’d suggest is 10 days in the Vipassana Retreat up at old Mt Boyce. The girls there will certainly clear his head, and give us free souls a bit of a break from all his lies and deceit.

The King, on the other hand, is on much firmer ground in his pursuit of World Peace – have I mentioned before just how much he looks like Mussolini in his mugshots? The King, so it appears, is just itching to wade into Our Don’s new war … well not him of course, he’ll be safe at home in the bussom of Christ & the Gang waving the new X Wing battle flag – it does look good superimposed upon the old Jack, eh – Like a combination of the old New Guard and a bit of National Action. (You wouldn’t think our divine lawgiver would have so much time on his hands to be designing flags .. what with all the work he has defining corruption for us – probably pushing for a pay rise .. again.) So all our growing boys and girls are going to be heading off to war. Good for the character. Well, they won’t really need to head off, not in this Brave New World where we no longer have to go away to destroy another country and inflict punishment on a foreign people … Now, we can invite it here, though is it really that good to have more imports, aren’t we trying to export our rubbish to the outside world these days? Gets all a tad confusing for someone like me …

Of course, I’m not 100% sure that the King’s guaranteeing us this new war, not like fairness and dribble-down which we can be sure of.

‘Mistrust all in whom the impulse to punish is powerful. Instead wish that man be delivered from revenge … that is for me, the bridge to the highest hope, and a rainbow after long storms.’ – Nietzsche.
