Take off their heads .. take off their heads!

Take off their heads .. take off their heads!

A small thing that irked me today, a royalist head was raised! This should really be a part of suicide radio but it goes to show the fine lines we can blur with regards to responsibilities these says. I heard a political commentator, when asked about the likely hood of MalCon calling an early election – say next week – answer that he .. and he chuckled here, ‘.. thought the Governor General might have something to say about that! Might tell him to go back to the party and sort something out.’ .

So now we can imagine the Gov Gen calling the Queen and asking, “Gday Darl,” he’d say, “Dopey over here wants to have an election, stop the fascists taking over the treasury .. says its imperative! What’ya reckon?”

You’d imagine she’d hit the roof. I mean she’s heard Aussie soldiers talk before but, ..’What! An imperitive directive!”, you hear her say, ‘From where? Fucking Australia. A colony. Tell him to shoot himself.”

Thats right. She’s got the right idea – got her crown burnt last time.

“A democracy would never do for those who wanted epic glory, but if it seems useful to you to direct the intellectual and moral activity of men toward the material necessities of life, and to use them to produce well-being; if reason strikes you as more profitable to men than genius; if your object is not to generate heroic virtues but peaceful habits; if you prefer to witness vices rather than crimes, and fewer great deeds in return for fewer outrages; if, rather than moving in a brilliant society, you are content to live in a prosperous one; if, finally, the chief object of government is not, in your opinion, to raise a whole nation to its greatest strength and glory, but to produce for each of the individuals who make up the greatest possible well-being and the least distress; then equalise status and build a democratic government.” – Tocqueville.
