The Queens Sing the Blues

As you are all aware of by now I am not a fan of the present Australian Government, in fact you have probably worked out that m not a fan of government nor neo-liberalism.
Over the past few days our neo-liberal information process has given us such things as ‘fear and preposterousness’ in our ‘Queen’ Julia Bishop making statements that while designed to lull us into a false sense of demockracy have – we are told – spread rampant fear and bigotry though our finely tuned society. Unthinkable, illegal wars and illegal attempts at self-determination.

Now to be fair, me being a ‘homeless and illegal person’, my ear bites and feeds of the news come in spurts – something to do with the Australian Government removing funds from the ABC, something about ‘fairness’ (I believe). This week whilst sheltering from an unseasonable heatwave next to a river with no water in it, I did manage to pick up, on my battery powered wireless radio, Mandy Vanstones highly intelligent programme called “Counterpoint’ – i think its meant to counter any valid social points On this hilarious waffle I caught “queenie’ belting on about Kim Dumb and “this war that is just unthinkable” because it would produce an “unthinkable humanitarian disaster” and would be “unthinkably disastrous” for the Lucky Country because it would pit our biggest trading partners against each other – “unthinkable”!

She also mentioned that it would be an “illegal war”!? I wouldnt have thought Kim Dumb would have given too much though to the illegality of war. Perhaps, MalCon should head on over and read him the speil about “Demockracy & the Rule of Law”, after all its working on the Australian people.

Speaking about illegalities, I also hear that the UN & the US has declared the Kurdish Referendum on Self-Determination ‘illegal’ as they havent sanctioned it and that it would hinder the fight against IS and bring instability to Iraq! Jesus, the last thing we would want is to bring instability to Iraq. Poor old Kurds they finally get some space to have a go at self-determination and some twat tells them its illegal. They got their space, by the way, despite years of being gassed by the more stable countries in their region and being the only people actually fighting IS for the most part of the last few years. True they were fighting ‘illegally’. Smack ’em Queenie smack them. Take their $40 million that you – we – gave them …oops, that was to Dutarte in the Phillipines as an aid to peace. Well that appears to be Australian treasure well spent. I take it that’s legal?

The theme of Mandys show was ‘What Makes a Good Person?’. For a start I’d imagine not letting Kim Dumb get away with an “unthinkable …illegal war” would have to count for something so perhaps Don’s doing something right after all.

Mandy’s main beef this week however, seemed to be with an internet ‘show’ she watches called something like ‘worlds greatest hacks’ – sorry I was laughing so hard from her previous segment that I missed the full name of the programme – anyway this programme deals with ways to save money, conserve, recycle etc. Something like that, could just be art. She appeared to be most taken by a segment regarding the making of ‘sports bras’ out of men’s underwear.

Yuk, Yuk, yuk, to use Mandys words, disgusting who’d want to make a sports bra out of some old dudes used dirty underwear (perhaps Don’s?) when you could just go out and buy a BRAND NEW SPORTS BRA. Yuk.

As Mandy said, there is “definitely something wrong with the world! Something wrong with the world when the internet advertises these sort of ‘hacks’. Its really just hacks for people who dont have a life. Get a life!” Tough stuff from a girl who thinks the only thing wrong with rushing into the Duty Free to buy a $50 box of chocolates is that she had to ask for a plastic bag to carry them back to her car in!

Could be Mandy, that these ‘hacks’ are for people who just cant afford to go out and buy new sports bras and $50 boxes of chocolate with plastic bags, or maybe they think that recycling is just a good thing to do? Perhaps? Who knows? Suppose I’d have to Get a life!

“Almost always the men who have achieved these fundamental inventions of a new paradigm have either been very young or very new to the field whose paradigm they change… They are the men who, being little committed by prior practice to the traditional rules…, are particularly likely to see that these rules no longer define a playable game and to conceive another set that can replace them.” – Thomas Kuhn
